THROWING HAWKS
To a 12-year-old boy, there are few things in the world cooler than throwing a tomahawk! This morning, a bunch of the boys headed over to the Buckskin Games Corral to throw a little iron. Buckskin Games is run by a counselor named Marvin who has attended or worked as a counselor at Camp Geiger for 45 YEARS! He's an incredible guy - look at one of the previous year's blogs for the full story - and is super encouraging to the boys. Sticking a tomahawk from 15 feet isn't all that easy. But he works with them on their technique, teaches them to concentrate and then turns them loose, all the while assuring them they'll get it. Which most of them do. And hey, even if you don't stick one, you're throwing hatchets. How fun is that?
